The Crescent City Charter League (CCCL) was founded in 2016 with a focus on healthy competition, good sportsmanship, and responsiveness to member schools. The league also prides itself on prioritizing the development of all students who participate.
The league began with two sports – flag football and volleyball – for middle school boys and girls, and initially served 300 students from six schools across the city. Over the years, the league has grown to serve 1,700 students from more than 30 schools. CCCL has also added soccer, baseball, softball, and basketball in addition to maintaining its volleyball and flag football seasons.
The Commissioner of the Crescent City Charter League works closely with school-based staff members across the city, managing the schedule of all league games and ensuring that there is a shared understanding of what good sportsmanship – from coaches, athletes, and spectators – looks like.
